Weekend Food Choices Week 85: Italian Love
Some good things can be found in the most unlikely places
Hubby decided to take me on a lunch date out of town but when i got a view of the restaurant’s facade, i couldn’t help but be a little doubtful.
After all, i will never forget the 7-11 proposal *wink*
We’ve passed this place tons of times on our way to Taal Vista but i never realized it would actually be a decent restaurant
a view of the interiors immediately erased my doubts
Amoroma means I love Rome
this is the Mastropietro family’s Italian restaurant that serves fresh home made Roman dishes cooked from scratch
the checkered table tops in the dining area definitely set the mood for a casual Roman meal
hubby heard that their chili oil was great
we were excited to drizzle it over the famous brick oven pizza we ordered
Surprisingly, we didn’t have to wait long for our dishes
On our table:
5 Formaggi and Prosciutto Pizza (Php465)
Prosciutto is a thinly sliced dry cured ham -one of my favorite
but honestly, the plain cheese pizza won that day…so creamily delicious!
The perfect marriage of sweet, salty, and tangy flavors on a crunchy base …so mouthwatering!
Vongole Linguine (Php250)
Al dente linguine drenched in clam and tomato sauce
So good!
we finished off our wonderful lunch with freshly ground capuccino paired with choice dolci
Blueberry Cheesecake (Php175)
we weren’t crazy about their cheesecake (purple oven’s version is still the best we’ve tasted so far) but the classic Roman dolce we ordered was pretty good
Tiramisu (Php185)
a soft, bitter sweet dessert that gave our meal a perfect ending
Amoroma will definitely be on our itinerary whenever we visit Tagaytay
…much like everything else in life, a restaurant should never be shunned because of its facade.
You might just find a good meal in an unlikely place…you never know

I love Amoroma… Syang their Makati and Alabang branches closed na 😦 thanks for posting, at least I know its still around.. Tagaytay nga lang hahaha
I was really surprised that they serve really simple but great food. So glad we discovered them!
The food looks great, and the Tiramisu just looks to die for, I’m wishing I was eating it right now.
