Weekend Food Choices Week 31: Im Back Exhausted but Successfully Happy
It has been a long time since i’ve opened this page, too long perhaps.
Thank you to the readers of Our Daily Blog and my on line buddies for putting up with my absence. We’re back, and im happy to have a smile on my face as i restart our Weekend Food Choices.
Last weekend was a stressful one for me and my friends as we were embarking on our last step to gain that additional four letters in our title. Nerve wracked and exhausted, i came home to a happy surprise from hubby. He said, “i know you’ve been so stressed so ive taken cared of your first weekend food choices after your challenge, would you like a Japanese, Italian, or Mexican cuisine?”.
My jaw almost dropped to the floor…
Little Miss Sunshine’s Rainy Day Delight
i woke up this morning a little distraught. i was planning to do my review outside but something told me i should stay home.
i had taken the “Little Miss test” yesterday,
to determine which among the series of characters by roger hargreaves i was,
and i turned out to be little miss sunshine.
not 1 hour into my day, i had realized the reason why little miss sunshine was panicky. it was going to be a rainy day. its funny how emotions can sometimes be influenced by the weather without us even noticing it.
although the rain may be a welcoming shower for most, to break the summer heat, im not one to like gloomy weather and when the skies get dark, one comfort food i think of is
i ordered this arroz caldo from icings a few weeks ago when i was feeling a little glum. ive never ordered it before in this establishment and was surprised that it was a little on the dry side and paler than im accustomed to.
surprisingly it did not taste as bland as i’d imagined it and even though it was not the best arroz caldo ive had, it still proved to perk up little miss sunshine’s day.
as if on cue, the rainy morning ushered in arroz caldo for lunch today! horaay!
what is your favorite comfort food?
