Weekend Food Choices Week 83: Buffet Options
I know we said we would stay away from buffets but we just couldn’t help it..
Hubby and i have been to Vikings before but we went separately so we decided we would celebrate Father’s day weekend with a buffet dinner
From my previous visit i thought that Vikings was a pretty decent buffet for its price. In fact, compared to the buffet on the other end of the boulevard, i thought Vikings offered a better spread of choices
hubby liked their sushi and sashimi offerings…
…and so did i!
so we weren’t surprised when we both got the same thing for our first plate
a generous serving of sashimi! Yum!
i was already happy just with this plate
but there were more seafood to be appreciated
you can imagine the looks i got when i hoarded this overflowing steamed shrimp and chili crab plate……hey, it’s a free country
the crabs were not exactly dungeness but each crab claw had a considerable amount of meat…….. so good!
the baked oysters were also a popular choice but i wish they had fresh oysters as well
even the simple grilled squid was pretty satisfying with its very soft meat
Hubby tried their steak but it was paper thin so he wasn’t really happy with it. They also had a few dimsum but just like the steak, and many of the other dishes included in the buffet, you would need a more specialized restaurant if you want quality food.
Then there’s the dessert spread!
I love how i can have all the yogurt i want
Hubby on the other hand loved his bowl of delicious taho (tofu, caramelized sugar and tapioca)
Other traditional Pinoy desserts were also available
The bibinka (rice cake) and puto bumbong (bamboo steamed rice cake) were delicious!
especially when paired with my favorite thick hot chocolate
it’s like Christmas here everyday!
Their ice cream is also a must try because of its extreme creaminess!
The avocado (guacamole) ice cream was a winner!
If you love seafood and desserts, this buffet is definitely for you…it was definitely for me!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s out there!
