Watch ‘n Snackin: Empanada MAS

For Hubby and I, empanadas are a great snack item or something you’d have when you want a light meal so we were pretty excited when we got invites to try Empanada MAS

Empanadas are stuffed pastry pockets that are deep fried or baked. Empanar is a Spanish word that means to wrap in bread, hence this pastry’s name.

Empanada MAS is a food outlet that offers gourmet empanadas. Homemade, hand rolled and made from a family recipe passed down from generations.

they also offer freshly brewed espresso based coffee to go.

Empanada MAS offer empanadas that are cooked fresh daily in their outlets, served warm upon ordering.

prepared the same way it’s been served in the owners’ family, Empanada MAS offer an alternative to the usual fast food products

We took home a box of empanadas and half a dozen empanaditas. We were told they would keep in the refrigerator for 3 days and for around 7 days if frozen. Reheating can be done in an oven.

of course we had to try a couple of them as soon as we got home.
we decided to sample the 2 flavors of their empanaditas -mini dessert empanadas
Nutella empanaditas

and

Cream cheese and chives empanaditas

They were a little bready for me but once you get to the filling they were really good. I particularly liked the flavor of the cream cheese and chives -the cheese fan that i am, but i wish the consistency was a bit more creamier, it would have been perfect!

I couldn’t wait to get a mouthful of the regular sized empanadas!

We took home their chicken, chorizo, ham & cheese, and spinach empanadas

Let me share with you my favorite ones

Spanish Style Chorizo
a bit spicy, this flavorful empanada hit the right spot!

Classic Chicken Empanada
Empanada MAS does justice to this empanada classic.

Subtle flavor, delicious breading…yummy!

next time we’ll give their coffee a try…till then, why not give this gourmet empanada a try and tell us what you think!
