Weekend Food Choices Week 81: Cracking Claws Make Me Happy

image
I was feeling a bit crabby last weekend because of a cold (forgive the pun) so when hubby said he wanted to eat at Crustasia, i was more than willing to go …crustaceans make me happy

We were the first to come in for dinner so service was great because we had everyone’s attention. Although i must say, we’ve already come in a couple of times before at this branch of Crustasia and they’ve always given us good service

On our table:

Tom Yum

This got hubby’s seal of approval.

It had delicious flavor, just enough heat (for me that is), and a single order can serve two people.

Now we know where to go for good spicy soup when we want it!

Pad Thai

This was not very attractive when it arrived at our table but a couple of tosses made the dish look much better. Unfortunately, it didn’t help the taste very much.

There was something missing in this dish. This Pad Thai was sweeter than we’re used to and lacked the usual flavors we expected. We’ve definitely had better plates of this before…

Black Pepper Singaporean Crab

We chose a 1.2 kg male crab which was shown to us before it was prepared.

Cooked in olive oil and ground black pepper, this dish was de-licious!

The chunky crab claw meat, dipped in the olive oil infused black pepper in the serving dish, was fantastic! I could eat this all day!

We usually get male crabs because they have bigger and meatier claws which hubby and i both prefer but a few ounces of crab fat, for me, wouldn’t be so bad either…

So a fat male, and yes I’m still talking about the crab, would be wonderful, in my opinion

What kind of crabs do you like to order?
