Philippine Blog Awards 2011

Last week we got word that we made it as a finalist in the Philippine Blog Awards Food & Beverage Category (Luzon)

The day of the awarding ceremonies turned out to be a busy day, work in the morning that lasted longer than i had expected, then errands that took forever to finish, and all this amidst the holiday traffic…

and if that wasnt enough, my first meal of the day, can you imagine, was at 4 pm! so in short, this food blogger was not in the best of moods, nor in the best attire for such an event!

Luckily, hubby was there to cheer me up, and the site of an old friend, now better known as the princess of nail art, lifted my sour mood -no pun intended!

It wasn’t long before the program started, with Gang Badoy as the evening’s host.
She never fails to amuse me with her wit and intelligence!

Simply Rins, authored by my extremely artistic friend had won the Beauty & Fashion category

and as i was congratulating her, the finalists for the Food & Beverage category were being announced…bummer i thought, was i ready to wallow in my defeat?

…but as i was telling hubby how i thought kitchen cow, a blog i frequently follow, would win, they opened the envelop and read Our Daily Blog

my first thought was “but I’m not appropriately dressed i wasnt even in any of my favorite footwear!”

but i got up anyway, approached the stage and had my few minutes of fame.

i was numb for the rest of the night in disbelief of what actually happened

The Philippine Blog Awards’ theme for 2011 is “Bayanihan”. This year it not only aimed to recognize blogs worth visiting but it also launched a project called Blogger Bahay with Habitat for Humanity.
here is PBA president June Sonido as he explained the project and the significance of the trophies

this definitely serves as a challenge to every single blogger out there

The evening proved to be a very fruitful one as i realized to
1. Always be prepared -even if you think you’ll just be another wall flower for the evening, you should always dress as if you’re actually important …and tell your personal photographer to be ready to shoot =)
2. Never under estimate yourself -your efforts will always be appreciated especially if you love what you do
3. Always remember that even a bad day can turn into the best day you’ve ever had – so smile and stop complaining!

congratulations to all the 2011 Philippine Blog Awards winners! we hope to see you all again next year!

  2. Congratulations! You so deserve this award. Your blog is informative, classy and something I look forward to reading. If I have one “complaint”, it is that you do not blog as often as I would like you to. Congrats again and keep up the good work!

well deserved! the heck if you’re not appropriately dress, it was decent enough though (at least di ka naman naka-puting blazer or scrubs, hehe). …my blog was a finalist too in best personal category but the award went to more deserving one. again, i’m so glad you won! your blog is worth the follow! 🙂
