discoveries after the wedding bells

Surprise Surprise

While i was at work today hubby sent me an sms saying he had a surprise for me

…boy was i surprised!

he apparently went shopping without me and bought this …and a couple other things…

our old espresso machine was great but lazy old me would could not learn how to manually make espresso with all the pounding and pressing…

but my new kitchen toy is a breeze, just load with either whole coffee beans or ground beans (preferably from Starbucks or Lavazza)

notice the heating plate to keep the cups warm before you pour coffee into them or after, while it waits for you to sip…

choose your preferred temperature (warm, hot, extra hot), espresso strength, and the number of shots you want, 2 for me…

press, press, press then whalah!

perfect espresso dripping into my grande cup

perfectly creamy cup of espresso

….and oh yeah it does have a milk frother

and hubby whips up a mean cup of capuccino!

thank you hubby this means its going to be less visits to my favorite cafe

  3. Now that’s the kind of surprise I’d love to get every once in a while! We used to have the manual kind of espresso machine, too, with hubs acting as baristo. But it was such a production just to get a few shots of espresso! These all-in-one machines are so great for fuss-free caffeination. 😎

For the ultimate no-fuss, though, I want to try one of those CBLT or Nespresso machines with their ready-made pods… 😎

    • I so agree regarding all the work for a shot of espresso with the manual machine TangledNoodles! I’ve tried the nespresso machine before when we were on vacation and it definitely is fuss free, the pods are just a bit pricey though =p
