Weekend Food Choices Week 64: Man Sandwich and Frozen Dessert Madness

Interesting restaurants have been cropping up a couple of streets away from our home and being a big sandwich fan (not to mention frozen dessert junkie) this particular place caught my eye

Mad Mark’s is a cozy joint with 8 4-seater tables and a small bar

it exudes a no nonsense simplicity with its red and white interior and promise of good food

… a simple menu of man sandwiches, sides, drinks and home made ice cream

so we ordered a sample of each …that’s us!

that night, only the raspberry iced tea was available

it only comes in one size (huge). We thought it was alright, although hubby wished they would throw in some specialty beers in the drink menu which he thought would go well with their man sandwiches.

now what are man sandwiches you ask…

……the urban dictionary defines it as a dish where you use all your lunch meat in one sandwich……and so we realized why after our sandwich was served

Lumberjack Man Sandwich

a 10 inch sandwich which we had cut into 2

Angus beef mixed with mushrooms, bell peppers, caramelized onion topped with mozzarella, sandwiched between delicious white bread

served with our order of Herb Parmesan Fries which was a big hit with hubby

He said his favorite delicious fries from the burger place across the street now has a stiff competition!

so our serving of delicious lumberjack manwich and parmesan fries came from this …

…to this *blush*

finger licking good!!!

curiosity got the most of us and as if we didn’t already have enough, we ordered a basket of wings

it only comes in a single spice level which i thought was a little too hot for me, but hubby thought it was tastier than the buffalo wings at his regular hang out

as he was finishing off the wings, i was already checking out the different home made ice cream flavors

i finally decided on Salted Sumatra

a really tasty coffee based ice cream

and Madagascar Vanilla Bean

which is a delicious vanilla flavored home made frozen dessert

i would come back to Mad Mark’s even if only for this ice cream flavor!

that’s how good it was…simply maddening!
