Weekend Food Choices Week 37: Not Exactly for a First Date

As far as i can remember, my first date with hubby was at a VV Country Club for his graduation ball. I can’t remember the food they served and i don’t even want to try to remember my 90’s dress…

So as we were enjoying dinner last weekend, our hands all dirty from the meal, i told hubby i just couldn’t imagine eating our dish on a first date

Hubby wanted me to choose where to have dinner last weekend and without batting an eyelash i knew where i wanted to eat

It’s definitely not the first time that we’ve eaten at Crustasia and after our dinner, i don’t think it would be our last either

Fried Thai Spring Rolls with Shrimp

Although some of the fried wrap of the spring rolls were darker than i would have wanted, the appetizer was pretty good.

Yummy glass noodles mixed with mushrooms enveloped in a crisp wrap

Typhoon Shelter Crab
Deep fried crab sauteed with garlic and chilies

When we were ordering, we asked our waiter for the smallest crab they had. She left our table and after a few minutes, came back out from the kitchen with a live male crab weighing 1.2kg which hubby and i inspected and ordered to the deep fryer

The deep fried crab was served on a bed of delicious garlic noodles

Delicious crab meat that could only be enjoyed using a shell cracker, a seafood fork and your fingers…

…and as i was dipping my crab smeared fingers into the lemon wash with a satisfied smile on my face from the delicious crustacean which we finished lickety clean, i couldn’t be more glad that this was not our first date as i don’t think i would have enjoyed the crab as much as i did

What did you order on your first dinner date?

  1. we’ve already tried crustasia and red crab before, sarap!

what we ordered for our first dinner date? 2 pasta plates from outback. and my ex-GF, now my wife for 6 years & counting didn’t appreciate it; it was history after i almost went home with an empty pocket. 🙂 nonetheless, the effort was worth it.
