discoveries after the wedding bells

Sign of Things to Come

The sun has been out since the beginning of 2010 and everyday i happily look up at the blue sky and cottony clouds and think “ahhh what a beautiful day”.

Recently though, it’s been getting quite warm, ok, hot to be exact! So when we saw this display of gelati on a stick, we couldn’t help but say “way cool!”

When i saw the glass cooler, i stood there for minutes on end because i couldn’t choose which gelato flavor i wanted to get. And if that wasn’t enough, i spied a cafe behind the display which served affogato creating more confusion!

I finally coerced hubby to buy a stick of gelato flavor of his choice so i could order a cup of affogato and taste both products

The glass cooler display of Stick House was right in front of Caffe Izzo which serves affogato.

After a few minutes of anticipation (and a couple bites of hubby’s pistachio gelato) my affogato finally came

The gelato that had started to melt in the hot espresso was so inviting

A sip of the beverage sent wonderfully smooth liquid to coat my lips and tickle my palate

Delicious i must admit, but i was a bit perplexed with the drink’s temperature. You see i like my coffee extra hot and my gelato cool (of course) so i wasn’t quite sure what to make of the outcome of the affogato’s lukewarm temperature. I must try more affogato’s before i can give my verdict. Any suggestions where i should order my next affogato?!

Oh and the pistachio gelato on a stick…it was satisfyingly smooth but not as good as i expected. Hubby and i were a little surprised because we both thought it tasted a bit like green tea ice cream! Maybe our senses were a little out of whack that day, or could they have given us the wrong flavor?! I guess we should try their other gelato flavors and see how that goes. After all, ill be in the area 3 times a week! excuses, excuses…

Funny, just as i thought summer has arrived, it rains!
