Weekend Food Choices Week 28: In Celebration of a Routine’s Return

Two weeks of the daily grind is finally over and this weekend was the first one out with hubby in almost a month! After work, mine that is (because who else works during the weekends!), we decided to have a late lunch just outside my new work place

I told hubby that i wanted to eat somewhere different after 3 weekends of not being able to leisurely dine out, so we headed to Shomal Kebabs and Curries by Hossein

Hossein offers Halal Middle Eastern Cuisine.

I love the place’s ambiance with its cushiony chairs, lavender drapes and beautiful chandeliers.

The waiters were also very attentive and knowledgeable of the dishes they served. After a quick deliberation (as we were on a tight schedule), we decided on the dishes we would order to celebrate the return of our weekend eat out.

On our table:

Tom Yum
Not the best that i’ve tasted. I still prefer the full flavors of Malacca’s tom yum.

Beef Shawarma
This was a winner. The beef strips were tender and perfectly wrapped with just the right amount of vegetables and a wonderfully delicious sauce! oohhh, im drooling just describing this shawarma!

Lamb Shish Kebab
Another good choice! The lamb was cooked just right giving the meat a soft buttery consistency. The wonderful flavors of the grilled lamb marinated in Hossein’s special blend, together with the grilled tomatoes and peppers with the beautifully buttered saffron rice made a delicious mouthful! YUUUM!

All in all, i think we chose the perfect place to celebrate the return of our Weekend Food Choices! Deprivation actually led to “binge dining out” as we tried 3 new places this Sunday, yes, you read it right, 3 !! But lets reserve the reviews of the 2 other places for some other day lest we cause you indigestion!

Have a great week everyone!

  5. I’ve never tried this restaurant and I have a personal bias for Ziggurat but I must admit the lamb kebabs is driving me nuts right now. I loved the curtain pics, by the way. Good job.

    • Hi Rain! I don’t think i’ve ever tried Ziggurat before so i really can’t compare. Why don’t you try Hosseine and tell us what you think 😉 They have branches in Serendra, Greenbelt and Trinoma.
Oh and thank you for the compliment! Have a good weekend!
