Sweetness of Persistence
As a child, i often got my way. Hubby said i must have been a little brat but go and ask my mom any day and she’d tell you I was a little angel. *giggle*
Now, hubby and i have been visiting the Vargas Kitchen stall every Sunday after mass to try and get us this sweet treat.
Unfortunately, we would usually get the same response from the girl behind the counter “sorry wala na po” (sorry, we’ve ran out) and i would usually feel like throwing a fit.
Ok, im exaggerating! But the anticipation was really killing me as i wanted to already sink my teeth into this sugary pastry.
So last weekend after getting some groceries, i remembered that we hadn’t made our weekly trip to the stall. Hubby said that it was probably sold out again because it was already late and we, for the nth time, forgot to try and reserve a couple of pieces before going.
Persistent old me tugged him towards the stall’s direction anyway.
As they say, persistence does pay off!
This pastry was delicious! Hubby thought that it was a little too sweet but i thought it was just right with a good cup of strong coffee or tea.
I will definitely be back for more!
San to Mitzi?
Looks tempting. Where can I get one?
Hi Rins & Dyosa, the Vargas Kitchen has a stall at rockwell across the grocery cashiers and next to the alcohol and wine shop, im not sure if they have a table at the baker’s dozen at the concourse level as well.
If you have a sweet tooth, this would be a treat for you!
