A Steaming Cup to Soothe Troubled Minds

I woke up early this morning to the phone ringing bearing not so good news. I fell back asleep deep in thoughts and woke up again with hubby telling me it was late.

I couldn’t help but think it was all a dream.

The whole day was overcast with everyone paranoid about the arrival of Pepeng. It was like the weather took pleasure in keeping everyone in suspense. Dark skies, very soft rain and no wind.

Everyone prayed.

Hubby got home early and i went home as soon as i could arriving just in time to escape the downpour.

Waiting…hoping it would never come…

Anticipation needed a soothing cup of sweetness

There is something about hot chocolate that calms my nerves

The frothy steaming milk


The bitter sweet chocolate


The mix just takes me back to a time when life was more simple, safer…

Hubby doesn’t like chocolate and prepared his own snack

he needed something else to soothe his nerves…different people are just that, different i guess…

  2. what calms my nerves? hmmm… chocolate! 🙂 mrslavendula, have you tried putting a pinch of salt in your hot cocoa? salt brings out the chocolate-y flavor! or try this 20% water with your ricoa then nuke it to make a paste then 80% of milk if you want it milk chocolate but if you like it bitter chocolate, switch the proportion of milk and chocolate. 🙂

    Urbandmudra! super thanks for the suggestions!! they sound so yummy, except that its so hot right now that i’ll have to wait until morning when its a bit cooler to sip on hot coco!

  4. Everyone seems to be coping effectively with food and drink around, right? Too bad those are the same stuff that the typhoon victims didn’t have during the storm that’s why I decided to not blog about food for three weeks. I just felt so guilt. By the way, I love the look of your choco drink preparation.
