Finding Something New in Familiar Places

Its been drizzling since yesterday leaving Lima looking like a speckled pickle.

Cloudy days make me quite sad but new found dishes in familiar favorite places do make up for the gloom.

Hubby and i were trying to decide where to eat a couple of days ago after we found out no one was cooking for us (me and my allergy to cooking). We were roaming the mall, going in circles but hubby was giving every excuse why we should not eat in the places that i had in mind. That was of course until we neared one restaurant we frequent and without batting an eyelash, we were inside, seated at a table…makes me wonder if he had really wanted to go to this restaurant in the first place and was just being nice by asking where i wanted to eat…sneaky!!!

Can you guess where we ate?

On our table was the familiar bowl of noodles and generous ingredients swimming in delicious broth

I was feeling adventurous and decided to try one of their rice dishes, something we’ve never had before.

A star on the menu signifies diners’ favorites but i was torn between two meat dishes and so i asked our waiter which was better.  She said “pareho naman po sila” *disappointed*

So i just went ahead and picked which ever.

Fortunately my pick made me really happy

The beef in this dish was delicious! The flavors of the marinade gives a savory treat to the palate and the beef itself was cooked perfectly, soft yet with enough texture for that mouthwatering bite.

Ok, i did forgive our waiter, but good and well opinionated service is always a plus…just like good strong coffee after a satisfying meal!

  2. It’s Pho Hoa, right? 😉 I was looking at your Vietnamese iced coffee and wanted to cry because it’s one of my faves but my doctor told me to stop drinking coffee! 😦
