Revisiting My Childhood
What better way to revisit my childhood than by going to a toy convention and a kiddie party!
Last weekend, the 8th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention (TOYCON) was held at SM Megamall and we just happened to be there with hubby’s camera. here i am mingling with cosplay characters
i think i saw a bunch of kids dress like this sometime last year and thought it was a little weird, but this time as we joined the crowd (costumeless that is), they looked like they were having such a good time playing the characters they were dressed as, that i got caught up in the fun!
i didnt even know most of the characters
but it was fun getting my pictures taken with them…it was like being in Disneyland again, only this time, the characters were mostly anime
and as if that wasn’t enough childhood nostalgia, i attended a Jollibee party that same evening
it was the joint party of mommy TCV and baby EV
the kids had a blast when hetty and jollibee came out
the young at heart had a great time too
especially when the food came!
sometimes i just cant believe it when i see the next generation OBB!
time out with good friends…what a great ending to a fun weekend!
i can only look at your photos with cosplay characters with envy, lol. sayang, my son could have enjoyed the event if we only heard about it.
ofcourse, jollibee is LOVE! =)
Your pictures of the cosplay crowd reminded me of my days with the local anime fan community nearly a decade ago. (Too old to cosplay even then! Besides, it was the menfolk and their fascination with giant robots that ruled the roost back then.) The costumes these days are much cuter, though.
And Jollibee Super Meals – they’re a secret weakness; I especially prefer mine with palabok. ;p
hi doc, we didnt know about this event either, it was purely by chance that we were able to go! look on the bright side, you have something to look forward to next year!
hi midge! i agree, jollibee palabok is definitely yummy!
huwaw. uso na pala ang cosplay sa manila ngayon? oh man! 😉 they do look like they’re having a lot of fun, and i’m sure they put a lot of time into creating those costumes 😉
hi caryn! i was surprised as well, how into it yung mga participants! yes, they were having a great time!
