pictures paint a thousand words
hubby has been encouraging me to learn to develop pictures. but because he is not a very patient teacher and i am a very inquisitive student, we need a couple more sessions before i get the hang of developing digital photos. you know me, resistant to things that are not taught extensively. hehehe!
so while i try to perfect my new craft, i’d like to share some photos reminiscent of 2008
aside from a couple of tantrum evoking incidents, it was a good and fruitful year…
yes, what a year 2008 turned out to be!
yearly gatherings
one of the best things about christmas is you have a reason to get together with good friends.
tonight was the OBB xmas get together.
its always great to see these friends of mine. brings you back to the good old days when life seemed so simple, and cares and woes were blatantly shallow.
we missed a couple of our friends during the get together *sad*
i was done looking through rose colored glasses years ago but tonight was definitely an eye opener. its a wonder how people could start out similar lives and lead such different ones 10 years after.
if only…
holiday sweets
when hubby came home from his trip, he opened one of the boxes and fished out a tub of cookie dough from our cousins. now we all know im not very enthusiastic about cooking, all the more about baking.
it all started when i was younger and thought that i would bake some instant brownies (take note, instant, those mixed from the box and then popped in the oven). the first time i tried it, it was golden brown but the insides were gooey and obviously were not yet cooked. the next time i tried, i burnt the outside but the insides were just right. i tried a couple more times until i resolved never to bake again.
so when hubby enthusiastically announced that he wanted me to bake i had my reservations. i took the tub out today and read the instructions. it was a 20 minute cooking period so i thought id give it a try.
pensively waiting and looking through the oven glass door, i saw my cookies grow just until the edge of the next one. the kitchen smelled really good and best of all my cookies looked and tasted delicious! i was so confident i cooked a second batch and stored them in zip tight containers in lieu of cookie jars. wow! that was easy!
thanks to our cousins R&C for the magic tub of cookie dough … and for the coach baby bag that i got. i hope it brings us luck in getting a little one i can use it on! hopefully as cute as your little angel!
heads up
im actually having blog withdrawal symptoms (havent blogged for a while so im posting 4 entries in one night!)
last friday was SEE’s bday. we celebrated it a few days before in north park.
let me tell you about this girl. she is the most ambitious of our group and with all the right to be so. after all she will rule GSC! hehehe! happy birthday friend!
the actual date of her birthday was our departments xmas party aptly themed “heads up its a musical christmas” first of all because we were supposed to wear a unique headdress and secondly because it entailed a lot of singing. i had posted a teaser of my headdress a couple of weeks ago (which you can go back to when or server gets reapaired) and so let me show you the actual thing
it was a fun evening!
newly discovered favorites
last sunday, i went ahead and used my new mineral make up after watching the instructional CD which it came with.
because im such a cream make up fan, it was pretty odd using a brush from start to finish. but when i was done i became a mineral powder convert! application is definitely easy (once you get the hang of it), and the finish is pretty flawless (call it beginners enthusiasm!)!
even the mineral lipstick is great!
i got mine in bread pudding. it may look a little lippy in this picture but its the best nude color ive ever tried!
i also tried the cuticle oil of lippmann
for anyone who has ever had dryness at the nail base a couple of days after a manicure, then this is the holy grail! great stuff!
now i know those who have tried jo malone has definitely gone gaga over the scent.
i loved the blue agava and cacao that my mom sent me last year so this year, she sent me a number of tubes of different scents ( i just love my mom!). i tried the nectarine blossom and honey scent first. it is just wonderful! im so torn between using it up first or jumping to the next scent!
and so happily on the escalator as we were on our way home last sunday, i spied a great looking pair of shoes at cmg. when i went in, i could not leave without it! hubby gave in after a few minutes of trying to convince me that i did not need another pair of shoes and some upward rolling of eyeballs. i guess he realized i had to buy it or sleep in the store until i did (hehehe!)
aren’t they gorgeous?! i cant wait to wear them!!!
