Weekend Food Choices Week 65: Rib and BBQ

One weekend hubby and i noticed a number of cars parked in the school building at the end of our street and to our delight it was a newly opened ribs and bbq place

Woohoo!

there were still balloon decors inside probably from the opening so this restaurant was really “hot off the grill”

Rub has partnered with Shine, an intervention center that offers special education programs. The restaurant offers OJT for students in vocational and transition programs. I thought it was cool that there are days students will actually be in the restaurant greeting the customers and bussing the tables.

We were admiring the interior of Rub which was decorated with cool wall mounted photos but it wasn’t long before our orders came

On our table:
Onion Rings

these were different from the usual batter coated onion rings we usually have but they were oh so crunchy-ly good dipped in aioli sauce

Baby Back Ribs Super Duo

a whole slab of ribs good for two and comes with 2 itsy bitsy servings of sides

you could opt to order a regular serving of sides but who wants to dwell on the sides when the ribs are so delicious!

soft and tender meat covered in delicious barbecue sauce

the meat was so tender that you can literally lick them off the bones

and as if that was not enough we saw this on the dessert menu

Fried Oreos with Vanilla Ice Cream

this reminds me of downtown LV with its deep fried twinkies….

so i guess this is the less sinful version…or not!

a mouthful is heaven…you first taste the cold sweet vanilla ice cream then the warm fried batter and then the sweet chocolate and cream sandwich…drool!

and this is what we have to think about as we pass by Rub every time we come and go from home …simply torture!
